Objective
To redesign the Elk Cove website, creating a virtual destination that exemplifies the care and craft encompassed within each bottle.
Process
The design process started with research into Elk Cove’s market, history and philosophy. As one of Oregon’s historic family-farmed wineries, we wanted to tell the story of the passion and skill that produces the lavish flavor of Elk Cove wines. With stunning photography captured by Anna, their Creative Director, alongside detailed tasting notes and events, the opportunity arose to design a digital destination for education and community engagement.
With the design vision formulated, I collaborated with the Creative Director to sketch the wireframes and two initial design concepts. After presenting both concepts to the Client, the final concept was chosen for full design. I designed the user experience, visuals, and responsive mobile layouts with counsel of the Creative Director. Final steps included production of pristine digital files, style guides, and slices to the development team.
Solution
The result was a responsive e-commerce website that serves as a digital destination and a mobile companion for the Elk Cove community, differentiating one of Oregon’s oldest and most respected wineries.

Drove the vision for and the execution of the Brand Refresh company-wide internal launch event. Lead, managed, and designed multiple design deliverables simultaneously to supplement the offsite. From the brand refresh work itself, to countdown "teaser" cards, to a company-wide presentation and video, to gift bags awaiting the Toads upon event completion, I led and designed each aspect of this event, resulting in a compelling, cohesive, and inspiring experience. I provided vision and creative direction to videographer for the 30 minute launch video. I served as a main presenter along with the C-suite.

“Toad Lore,” was inspired and created to be an innovative take on the traditional employee handbook. A small, leather-bound journal that captures the cultural quirks of Metal Toad, it has become more important than merely a guide for new employees; it’s an enduring cultural artifact that ensures that the uniqueness of Metal Toad will survive as the company grows and scales.
Toad Lore is intentionally playful in narrative and design, and pushes the bounds of the company branding to represent the technology firm's rich and unique culture all it's own.
Toad Lore is featured in 1,001 Ways to Engage Employees: Help People Do Better What They Do Best by Bob Nelson under the chapter "Organizational Culture” and on Entrepreneur.com.

Objective
To raise awareness of the Technology Association of Oregon’s story (including the depth and breadth of activities), inspire users to get involved or become a member of TAO, and to serve as a resource for members and the technology community at large.
Process
The Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) is a local nonprofit working to build opportunities, better our economy, and unify a voice for innovation. TAO empowers businesses and entrepreneurs through networks, events, advocacy, resources and more.
TAO approached our team for a redesign and rebuild of their website. The site had been pieced together bit by bit over the years, and the user experience was disorganized and frustrating, both on the front end for users and on the back end for administrators.
As the sole designer, I took the lead on reinventing the website, starting with the messaging and content strategy. I led multiple work sessions with the key stakeholders to determine the goals of the site, target audience, and key messaging.
From there, I looked at the information architecture holistically, designing the ideal user journeys and overall user experience. Rough wireframes and concept mockups were designed, building upon the TAO brand with an expanded color palette, iconography and photography aesthetic, which were approved by the Client. I partnered with the development team as I moved into full design to ensure the design mockups were feasible to build within scope. I designed the full user experience. As the website was built, I sat side-by-side with our developers to ensure the design integrity remained intact.
Solution
The result was a clean, intuitive design with a modular scheme. TAO has received many compliments on both the aesthetics, user experience, and easy to find resources the new website offers. Website traffic and engagement has increased dramatically since the launch.

Responsive Design
Objective
To redesign a clear, inspiring, and efficient user experience across all devices.
Process
After initial research and interviews with the Client, we identified the first step as a rigorous redesign of the website architecture. Working with the team, we created a new information architecture that streamlined the user experience and took into account future growth.
Upon approval of the information architecture, I collaborated with the Creative Director to sketch the initial wireframes and three design concepts. Upon Client approval of the chosen concept mockup, I designed the full user experience, visuals, and responsive mobile layouts with counsel of the Creative Director. Final steps included production of pristine digital files, style guides, and slices to the development team.
Solution

To design a candid website that embodies the method and philosophy of Hunter Qualitative’s work.
Process
Hunter is a qualitative research consultancy that combines cultural anthropology with documentary video — a trailblazing technique. After initial research and interviews with the Client, the look and feel of the website was inspired by another trailblazer — Dieter Rams.
With the quote “Good design is as little design as possible” in the back of our minds, I collaborated with the Creative Director to sketch the initial wireframes and design concepts. After presenting the concepts to the Client, refinements were noted as we moved into full design. I designed the user experience, visuals, and responsive mobile layouts with counsel of the Creative Director. Final steps included production of pristine digital files, style guides, and slices to the development team.

Process

With the counsel of the Creative Director, I designed this concept sketch to capture the craftsmanship and romance of the Dolcezza brand through rich photography and thoughtful artistic flourishes.

Objective
To redesign the Salt, Fire, & Time website to create a thriving, encouraging, and nourishing community, online and in stores.
Process
Salt, Fire & Time produces traditional healing food products on a community scale. After initial interviews with the Client, we learned that often SFT’s customer’s were changing their dietary habits to heal from illness. I collaborated with the Art Director to sketch the initial wireframes and design concepts that balanced the playful optimism of SFT’s branding with a user experience that empowers customers to quickly find the information they are looking for. After presenting the two concepts to the Client, refinements were noted as I moved the chosen concept into full design. I designed the user experience, visuals, and responsive mobile layouts with counsel of the Art Director. Final steps included production of pristine digital files, style guides, and slices to the development team.
Solution
This stylish e-commerce responsive website has three unique layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile. On desktop, the left third of the website locks into place with images representative of SFT. The right 2/3rds of the website scrolls, revealing a playful combination of content and form.
On the home page. different color panels walk new users through the Salt, Fire and Time story, from the healing foods and products, to services, to the thriving community, to an invitation to connect. A variety of images and playful iconic embellishments convey the blend of traditional with a modern twist.
On tablet, the left hand locked image disappears, and the trademark and social icons are brought to the main navigation.
On mobile, the main navigation features a hamburger navigation menu, and the remaining content reduces and grows smaller to adapt to mobile size.

Objective
To design an e-commerce website that tells the Jilzara story alongside a clear, captivating shopping experience.
Process
Jilzara is a national retail and wholesale jewelry distributor, providing premium handmade clay jewelry suited to all occasions. The design process began with close collaboration with the Client and Creative Director to research and develop the brand platform. I was responsible for full website strategy and design from inception to production, including the UX flow, visuals, rich user experience, and e-commerce functionality. I began with hand drawn sketches, then wireframes which became two design concepts. After I presented the concepts to the Client, I took the chosen concept into full design. Once the mockups were complete, I produced pristine digital files to hand off to the developer, and served as the project manager for design (myself), the Client, photographer, and web developers.
Solution
The website blends avant-garde sophistication with playful elegance. A lively color palette, modern typeface, and candid language reflect the progressive brand strategy. The e-commerce website is captivating and innovative in design and function, reinforcing the brand. A versatile white background reveals breathtaking background images, showcasing the jewelry. A clean, intuitive user interface invites exploration and ownership. Multiple shopping avenues and personalized tools streamline the shopping experience.
